The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is inviting the young minds of our nation to explore the fascinating world of space science through its Young Scientist Programme, YUVIKA 2024. This initiative aims to enrich the knowledge of school students in space technology, space science, and space applications, nurturing the scientists and technologists of tomorrow.
What is YUVIKA?
YUVIKA, or the “YUva VIgyani KAryakram,” is a special program designed for Class 9 students across India. It focuses on imparting basic knowledge on emerging trends in space science and technology, encouraging students to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Program Highlights:
- Duration: The YUVIKA program is scheduled from May 13 to May 24, 2024.
- Venues: Spanning across seven prestigious ISRO centers in India, including U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), Bengaluru, Satish Dhavan Space Center (SDSC) Sriharikota, and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, among others.
- Fully Sponsored: ISRO covers all expenses, including travel (II AC train fare or equivalent), lodging, boarding, and course materials.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria:
Eligible candidates are students studying in Class 9 as of January 1, 2024. The selection process is comprehensive, considering academic excellence, participation in science fairs, Olympiads, sports achievements, and extracurricular activities.
